MOTORCYCLE TOUR 1997

untitled-1.jpg

We took a motorcycle tour of the Northwest in 1997. Went with our friends Darris and Bille. Rode from Boise, Idaho up to southwest corner of Washington, then down 101 into California and cut across back to Boise.

Shortly after reaching the Columbia River in Oregon, we left the freeway and crossed the river to a little two lane senic highway that followed the river on towards the sea. This is the bridge we crossed. The bridge had metal gratings that made funny noises and made the bikes do squiggly things.

Right up on the NW tip of Oregon, near Astoria, this bridge croses the Columbia River into Washington. The near side is high so ships can cross under and the far side is right down on the water. It's a lot higher than it looks and the wind was blowing. Wildest downhill ride I ever took!

We spent the night in a little town called Seaside. This is me on the beach (above,) and me and Darris at a little park the next morning (below.)

Here is where we crossed into California and several shots of the big redwood trees.
